What is permanent makeup for brows, and how is it different from tattooing? Permanent makeup uses specialized pigments, ultra fine needles, and techniques designed specifically for facial skin — it's much more superficial than a traditional tattoo. The result looks natural and soft, not inky or harsh, and it does fade over time (which is actually a good thing — your face changes, and so can your brows)
Does it hurt? Most clients are surprised by how manageable it is! A professional grade numbing cream is applied during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Everyone's pain tolerance is different, but the most common description is more discomfort than pain until we apply numbing. If you've ever plucked your eyebrows, you can easily withstand this service.
What's the difference between nano, powder brows, and combo brows? Nano brows are created with a tattoo machine to implant pigment in a pattern that recreate a hyper-realistic brow hair. Powder brows use a soft shading technique that gives a filled-in, makeup look. Combo brows blend both - crisp strokes at the front and soft shading through the tail. We'll talk through which is the best fit for your skin type and lifestyle at your consultation.
How long does it last? Results typically last 1–3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare. Oilier skin and sun exposure tend to fade pigment faster. A touch-up appointment is recommended around 6–8 weeks after your initial session, and annual refreshes keep your brows looking their best. We wait 10-12 weeks for those with skin age 60+ We call it "Permanent Makeup" because it is not likely the pigment will ever fully leave your skin. It will likely fade over time and maintenence is needed.
What does the healing process look like? Your brows will look bold and dark right after the procedure — don't panic! Over the first 1–2 weeks they'll soften, flake, and may even appear to disappear a bit. By week 4–6 the true healed color settles in. The touch-up appointment is where we perfect the final result. What should I avoid after my appointment? For about 10-14 days post-procedure (while there are still any scabs): no sweating heavily, swimming, makeup application, sun exposure, or picking at the flaking skin. I know it's tempting - resist! Proper aftercare makes a huge difference in your healed result.
I have sparse or no brows — can permanent makeup help? Absolutely. Whether you've over-tweezed over the years, have thinning brows, or just weren't blessed with a lot to work with, permanent makeup can give you a full, natural-looking result. That's kind of what I live for!
How do I know which brow shape is right for me? That's what the consultation is for! We look at your bone structure, facial symmetry, and your personal style/preference to map out a shape that's flattering and uniquely yours. Nothing is permanent until you approve it - we draw everything on first and get your sign-off before we begin.
What if I already have old permanent makeup or tattoo brows? We can work with some existing work, but it depends on the color, depth, and placement. Send a well-lit, up-close photo when you reach out and we'll give you an honest assessment of what's possible.
How much does it cost, and is a booking fee/deposit required? Pricing is mentioned on our services page. A non-refundable booking fee is required to hold your appointment and goes toward the cost of your session, provided you only reschedule a maximum of 1 time with a 48+ hour notice.

Do you offer microblading? Microblading uses a tool that has fine needles fixed into a straight line. These needles are "drug" across the skin to create very fine slits that pigment fills and creates a hair like appearance. This technique is limiting for what skin types will be ideal for the service. Oily skin types will not "hold" a hairstroke, but rather it will blur over time, creating more of a powder brow look. This technique can leave scarring when not executed with precision by a skilled technician. Nano brows can be created with the tattoo machine on more skin types than microblading and still provide that natural hair-like appearance. It is less damaging than microblading, as it's poking the skin instead of cutting/slicing and can create more versatile hairstroke patterns and appearances. The nano brow is the true "hyper realistic" eyebrow technique.
